1965 Mustang Convertible with fresh restoration, excellent body, terrific floors, built 289cid engine, fresh 302 heads, 4v Edelbrock carburetor, Weiand intake, excellent compression, 4-speed, new GT front disc brakes, excellent suspension, brand new, new Wimbledon White paint work, new, very expensive White top, Red bucket seated interior, new red carpet, new white top, 5 lug styled steel wheels, radial whitewalls, top underchassis red oxided and detailed, fresh power top system, expert installation of a new top, pads, headliner and window, tremendous effort is completed to make a beautiful Mustang convertible that drives exceptionally well, Note that an extremely solid car was chosen for the restoration since it is hard to find such original and unmolested body and chassis, was originally 6-cylinder that has a photo history of the floors and underchassis showing its integrity, the original data plate that shows color 'M' of Wimbledon White (SEE LINK), data tag confirms the original colors of exterior and the interior, great color combination of the Wimbledon White that contrasts with the nice Red bucket seated interior that has been reworked, full console, uses the Hurst shifter for better shifting, working AM/FM Cassette radio, the engine is a fresh 289cid unit with the 302 heads, these heads have photos that show how fresh they are, when the restoration was completed for Christmas 2009 by Fraser Dante, the engine was already in the car, to make sure of its good build, The excellent compression of 165 to 175 lbs across was pulled, these figures show that the engine rebuild happened recently, now is nicely detailed in proper black engine and gold valve colors for driven show, the gold factory valve covers are just restored, the intake painted correct black as the intake is a Weiand aluminum unit to look factory correct, brand new Edelbrock 1404 carberator with manual choke is installed for more power, better performance and fuel mileage, stock chrome air cleaner with factory 'hi-po' air filter, stock exhaust manifolds connecting to full dual exhaust system, this engine is just tuned, it is figured that this should produce about 240 reliable horsepower today, full hoses and belts, a brand new full clutch and throughout bearing system just installed, to make sure the car starts well, the ring gear of the flywheel was replaced so the starter lines up correctly,(LINK), the transmission just gone through for excellent shifting and working synchronizers, this rebuilt was done in the initial engine installation and then transmission taken out and fully checked by the top support sub that does all the Fraser Dante work(SEE LINK), this extensive work is completed for this to drive as well as it looks, all for safety too, transmission numbers of C5AR-7006-D, W-1, transmission tag # HEH P, 034763, great GT disc brake conversion on front, these are the excellent 'stainless steel' units, to make sure this handles well, the four shocks are new,(LINK), has the new 1" heavy duty Shelby front sway bar just installed,(LINK), the last Atlanta owner had for 6 years before Fraser Dante did the restoration, fresh lower rocker moldings, the chrome bumpers are very nice, the rare original '65 side chrome moldings are saved in the restoration with full polishing, they have been on the car since new and have the C3 stampings with a monthly date stamp, photos show them before the new installation, the front inner fenders are excellent, clean VIN #s on both sides, hard to find so good, the floors were extremely solid, only the foot well of the rear driver's side was replaced and, on the other side, only a small steel patch was put in, these areas came from water over the last 44 years, hard to find such a good chassis, these areas have been carefully replaced, photographed, primed, then photos, then painted in the Wimbledon White, (SEE LINK), then final photos, then new red carpet, This very, very solid chassis still had a lot of the factory original paint still on the inner floors, the photos do not show how good they actually are when initially seen in person, (LINK), the underchassis is nicely detailed for driven show, the proper red oxide and detailed lines nicely prepared, new fuel tank installed, suspension is upgraded with items like the bushings on the front strut bars are new, these are checked along with the tie rod ends and ball joints, the final alignment is completed, seeing the extremely solid body is the reason that this new paint job was done, this still had the Ford stampings on the lower inner drip rails of the trunk, the lower underside of the rockers are stamped clearly with these original Ford stamps, (SEE LINK), the hood and trunk lid were taken off the car along with all the bezels in the paint prep, the whole body was do good that it had but three small areas that needed some patch work, along the rear of the flat area by the top, two small places on the front of the rear rockers, these small areas were expertly fixed in the outstanding prep before the paint, full documented, over 24 hours alone of prep time was used before painting, (LINK), the factory correct Wimbledon White paint was applied in a base coat before the many coats of clean coat, the latter was done in multi stages (SEE LINKS OF THE PAINT PROCESS), the paint was allowed to age for a week, the expert 'finisher' worked all aspects of the paint to the outstanding luster, the sides are outstanding, the same paint is used in the trunk area as factory, the new fuel cell was covered during this process, the same paint was used in the top side of the inner floors, the new, expensive white top is just installed along with new plastic rear window and full top pads, this hand stitched unit looks great, (SEE WORK AS PROGRESSING), has all new power top cylinders and new plastic lines just installed, the red boot is new, the interior work includes new red door panels, (SEE INTERIOR PROGRESS), weather stripping around the trunk, door areas, hood to cowl, new grill moldings, trunk lock mechanism, all new Ford and Mustang emblems, hood letters, taillight bezels, headlight hardware kit, great effort for all the trim to look like the new paint, this engine should produce around the 240 horsepower mark with the Weiand intake (painted to look stock) and the new Edelbrock 4v 1404 carb coupled to the fresh 302 heads, the 5 lug wheels are fresh and the rear end tag is a WCZ-B, C5 tag showing how correct this 1965 unit fits the drivetrain, (SEE LINK), all of this excellent work is documented, (SEE LINK), Fraser Dante finished their work including highway road testing for Christmas 2009 enjoyment going into Spring 2010

Buy with confidence!!! Fraser Dante Ltd fully checks all of its vehicles thoroughly…before a customer has their vehicle shipped, it has a small road test; this, of course, recognizes that this is a classic show type vehicle. All fluids checked, fresh oil, oil filter, and spark plugs, all lights working unless noted, brakes are checked, and a full checklist comes with the vehicle. The vehicles are nicely detailed with great effort. Our vehicles have had excellent work by top classic car mechanics. Many photos document lots of work along with valuable "number' sheets. NOTE, we supply proper legal paperwork, NO open titles, to insure complete transfer of ownership. We send an appraisal on the vehicle and then help with insurance. We fully, accurately and honestly, describe the condition and components of all vehicles to a great extent…in short, we tell the truth. We have sold fine quality classic and special interest vehicles around the USA and in Europe and now are in our 23rd year. You are not buying from an individual on the Internet who does not know or care about you, the buyer. We want your continued business and will be here tomorrow to answer your questions and are anxious for further buying and selling from our customers. |
