Mechanically this vehicle is in excellent condition. This Mach I Sports roof car runs and drives as good as it did off the showroom floor with good acceleration and precise handling. The engine provides 300 bhp and runs strong. The original engine was professionally rebuilt November 24 1982 including valve job, bronze guides, new springs, rocker arms and stands, .030 bore, .010 turn crank, reground cam, new lifters, bearings, rings and gaskets. Clutch, pressure plate and bearing were updated at the same time. All engine components are correct and original including the shaker hood scoop, carburetor, air cleaner, snorkel, s-tube (shaker hood seal has been replaced), distributor, coil, etc. Transmission and rear end are original and include factory seal cover clips. Power steering and power disc brakes work properly and are original. The exhaust manifolds are original (mufflers have been replaced with AM turbo style). This car has been recently services and has no apparent leaks, drips or issues at all. There are no unusual noises or vibrations when running or driving. This would make a excellent daily driver , local show car or Sunday cruiser. All of the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems appear to be working properly.
The exterior condition is very good with bright and shiny paint. There are minimal chips or blemishes in the paint, the trim is in good shape with minimal nicks and scuffs. This car was professionally repainted once approximately 10 years ago. There are no signs of accidents and the previous owner states that the car has never been hit. All body panels appear to be original with no signs of previous damage. Rear deck spoiler and rear window sport slats are original. Front spoiler valance spoiler has been replaced. All door rubber and window felts are in good condition. All of the glass is good and in working order. There are no signs of rust or corrosion anywhere. All of the exterior components appear to be complete and working properly
The interior is in very good condition with minimal wear. Carpets, headliner, door panels and dash are all in good condition. Carpets were replaced approximately 10 years ago. The steering wheel is original and horn ring is functional. Original Hurst shifter (AM shift boot). No cracks or damage to dash. Retractable seat belts and shoulder harnesses are complete and in excellent working order. Original AM radio was replaced with an AM am/fm/cassette (dash is not cut). All seats, door panels and trim is original with some wear from us with no rips or tears. All gauges and lights appear to be working properly. There are no unusual smells or odors in this vehicle.
The engine compartment, undercarriage and trunk are clean and complete. Engine compartment is clean and original with some detail work done including replacement decals. Spare wheel, tire and jack are in good condition. All floor boards, trunk pan, body and frame are clean with no patch panels or signs of previous repairs. There are no signs of rust or corrosion anywhere.
Wheels and Tires are in very good condition. The factory Mach I wheels are clean with no scuffs. The wheels are wrapped in a set of P235-60R14 Radials with a good amount of tread left.
