Restoration project

Time Remaining: 0 S

Current Price: 2324.0

This is the perfect restoration project. I have owned this vehicle for the past 9 years it was a daily driver for about 6-8 months and then I began restoring it. The car has been stripped down to the frame and all the parts are in boxes/coffee cans which are labeled. It has a 4-speed manual transmission and the engine is a 289 V-8. The wheels are 5 lug which means that it has the sturdier suspension package. Email me any questions.

"I would say that the car has some "skin cancer" in the form of pinholes around the wheel wells. Underbody, and 98% of the car is rust free. This was a standard coupe, 289 2V 4spd car, no bells and whistles. We stripped the car down several years ago, in preparation of a full restoration. We had it media blasted, sprayed in zinc oxide but never primered. It has been garaged in So. California ever since. The motor ran well when we disassembled the car, although it was a running motor, a minor overhaul would be recommended, along with addition of high performance parts, if that's your goal. Alll parts are included, but many are worn due to the years the car was used as a daily driver. We had planned replacing many of those pieces, like grill, chrome, mouldings etc. along with a new paint job. We had considered making it an Eleanor coupe lookalike. Just want to be clear, this is not just a re-assemble project, but more a good base vehicle project. What the new owner plans to do with it, is entirely up to them. Quality restored coupes of that era can see prices in the $10-15,000.00 for standard models, slightly higher for GT's and Specials. Having said that, it's up to the individual restorer and what they want the car to look like when restored. If you're having all the work done by shops, well your return on investment is going to be very small. If you can do a majority of the work yourself, then your ROI is going to be greater. Bottomline, there not making these cars anymore, and good unrestored cars are getting scarcer as time goes by."
