The following will be a description of each area of the car, being as in-depth and accurate as possible. Please keep in mind that this is a classic car that is over 43 years old, and although I will describe everything as best I can, some small items may have been overlooked.

 

 

 

 

As you can see from the photos, this Mustang has an absolute gorgeous body.  It?s also rock solid, with no evidence of rust ANYWHERE!  The underside is also solid, with great frame rails, perfect torque boxes and original floor pans.  The panels on this car are show great fit and are very straight. The car was repainted last month with Ford Candy Apple Red.  Base coat ? clear coat application, very high quality prep and application.   The paint was then professionally buffed to a high gloss and looks great! The front and rear valance are the only sheetmetal replaced on the car.  This is a California car with all original sheet metal except for the vallances mentioned above.  The underside is in excellent condition, with no rust ever!. The doors, trunk and hood all open and shut properly, and all of the glass is good.   The car is reinforced with convertible inner rockers; one-piece seat base, torque boxes, sub frame connectors and a Shelby export brace.  The roof is a 2-piece fiberglass roof with a glass rear window.  The roof comes off with 4 bolts, and can be removed in less than 2 minutes.  This car has been restored to resemble a GT convertible and fastback.  The car was originally a C code coupe.

The interior is very presentable for a driver/show car. 

·        The car starts at the flick of the key and runs strong and smooth.  The car tracks straight and brakes straight, has good steering response and a nice ride. The Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission shifts very responsive and smooth. The engine compartment is very clean, highly detailed and maintains its original appearance right down to the cadmium-plated bolts. Front drum brakes and rear drum brakes.  The suspension and is very firm and responsive to the touch.  The car runs and drive like new.   The tires are new.

TRUNK:

The trunk area is very clean, detailed, and looks like new. There is not even a hint of rust.  A new trunk mat, original boot slipcase, jack and lug wrench are present. Of course, all bolts are cadmium plated. No issues here, the pictures of the car speak for themselves.

The car of course gets lots of looks, it's really what I'd call the perfect collector car: a super desirable CONVERTIBLE with a Fastback Roof. that needs nothing, and runs fantastic.

The ?successful winning bidder? must contact me within 12 hours of auction completion to verify the purchase and finalize the arrangements to complete the transaction.  Please include your phone number in the e-mail for contact information. I would like a $500 deposit (paypal, money order or cashiers check) within 2 days. Balance is due by wire transfer only within 3 days of auction end. The car will not be released until all funds have cleared my bank. The car will be securely garaged until pickup.

The Tonneau cover was made in 1965 outsourced by Ford to a company in Indiana.
