I'm selling this rocket for some friends of mine. They can't afford to keep it AND pay the Chiropractor bills, too. (This 460ci engine is murder on neck joints..... whiplash doesn't go away with aspirin).
The engine isn't original, I believe these things came with a 429, but this one has a huge 460 nuclear powerplant. The odometer shows 96,000 miles on it,..... judging by the body, I'd say that's pretty accurate.
Dispite it's location, it is in wonderful shape. (It resides in Northern Michigan: where rust was invented..... and perfected). I'm told there is just ONE hole in the floor..... I'm not sure how big it is, but I'll try to update the pictures and get a good one of the floor.
This baby is just BEGGING for a full body-off restoration..... this would be one SWEET project for someone who loves old musclecars. (I wish I didn't have so many cobwebs in the checkbook,..... I wouldn't mind keeping it original and playing with it on the weekends).
*EDIT*.....
Wifey went to car-owner's house and got more pics,.....
..... Enjoy! (And for those who've asked, I'm told there is absolutely NO body filler on this thing..... it's all original factory steel and paint).
So bid high, bid often, and I hope you have a good Chiropractor if you're the winning bidder.
Good luck!
*Second Edit*.....
I got a few good pics of the bad spots. (And the good spots).
.....And ther ARE all four mag-rims that go with the vehicle..... they recently had a flat tire, and had the fourth rim in the trunk. (It IS on the vehicle, right now..... despite the listed picture).
Don't let this one get away!
HOLD THE PHONE!!!............
It has just been brought to my attention that this vehicle may not be a Mach 1 model!
I'm not a big musclecar enthusiast,..... I like 'em, but I don't study them in detail. I've always considered this particular bodystyle as a "Mach 1" mustang,..... but it appears that "Mach 1" is only ONE of SIX bodystyles for the Mustang in 1971. (EVERYONE involved with this car always calls it the Mach 1,..... that's what I know it as).
The Vin number code refers to THIS car as a standard 2-door fastback. If this vehicle ISN'T to be considered a "Mach 1", then I think everyone should know that.
