This 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback 2+2 "A" Code is in need of a total restoration as seen in the pics. It has extensive rust on the lower part of the body and unibody. As with most unrestored mustangs of this age, it needs floor pans, rear frame rails, torque boxes, trunk dropoffs, rear quarters and front fender repairs. I purchased it as a basket case around seven years ago and don't have the time to restore it and I need the space in my barn for other projects. It has been stored in a barn since I have owned it. The previous owner removed the spot welds for the cowl repair, but never completed it. I have the patch panels for the cowl, L&R floor pans, L&R trunk dropoffs, front radiator support, rear bumper supports and possibly some other small panels I can't remember. Mechanically I have a 289 engine that came with the car, but was left outside with the heads off for a period of time, so may not be salvageable. I also have a 351 Windsor long block that was purchased from a local farmer that thought it had been rebuilt for a pickup truck, but I can't verify that for sure. I also have 3 transmissions, a C-4 auto, a 3-speed toploader, and a 4-speed T-10. It has two driveshafts of different lengths. The rear end appears to be the original 8". The car was originally an "A" code car (4-barrel carb 289 V-8). I listed the car as a GT because it has all of the equipment that came on a GT such as A code engine, front disc brakes, dual exhaust, etc. According to the data tag, the car was originally Nightmist Blue with a black Pony Interior, Automatic. At some point the car was changed to a manual transmission, but it has an auto transmission brake pedal assembly with the car. Also, the seats were swapped at some point with standard seats instead of the pony seats. I believe all the fastback specific interior trim pieces and exterior chrome are there. There is a pile of parts up in the loft of the barn and I haven't gone thru it lately. Also, there are two cabinets full of parts, a lot of which were sandblasted and primed by the previous owner. There is no trunk lid or steering wheel with the car parts. The hard to find fastback trap door is in good condition, no cutouts for speakers. The fastback foldown I purchased separately and shown in one of the pics. If you would like to see the car in person, pleas email me. It can be seen in Carrollton, Illinois, which is about an hour north of St. Louis, MO. $500 down payment via Paypal required within 48 hours of close of auction. Balance in cash or cashier's check on pickup. Would prefer pickup within one week, but am flexible.
