For sale a 2006 Honda CRF 450

I race the NESC (New England Sports Commitee) circuit in New England. I race the 40+ VET class part time. I bought this bike new from a Honda dealer in May 2006. Here is some information on the bike.

The only reason I am selling this bike is because I got a great deal on a 2008 CRF450 from a guy that is getting a divorce. I have taken great care of this bike and it has never been mistreated. Total time on the bike is 36 hours. I changed the transmission oil, engine oil and filter after 4 motos, (about 1.5 hours). Anyone serious about this bike, let me know and I can put you in touch with the local bike shop that did all the mechanical work for me, The folks at the local shop know how fanatical I am about my bikes so they would be more than happy to verify this.

When the bike hit 15 hours we did a top end job, New cylinder head, new valves, valve springs, piston and rings, We did this not because we had to, but because there were some minor signs of wear and we wanted to. The bike got 3 valve check/adjustments per race season. The bike is stock with only a couple of things that I put on.

I am selling this bike with a lower reserve than what my local shop advised me to do. The bike is a great running bike. I've always run 110 octane VP race fuel in the bike. The day I brought the bike home I installed an hour meter on it so the run time shown is accurate. The only real flaw that the bike has a ding that a rock made on the header pipe during a race, it does not effect the performance. I have all the paperwork, manual and even the manufacturers certificate of origin, (same as a title).

This bike is ready to race or trail ride. It never failed me and still has tons of life left. I honestly can't see that big of a difference from this 2006 model compared to my new 2008. The 08 handles slightly different but power seems the same.

I have been getting questions if 110 octane race fuel needs to be run in this bike. The answer is NO. The bike is set up to run on 91 octane, premium pump gas works fine. I have found that leaded 110 octane race fuel is better on the valves and I get a little more "punch" with race fuel. Using race fuel is my choice. Most of the guys I race with use pump gas with good results and this bike would be the same. I hope this clarifies the fuel issue, thanks.
