Up for bid, with no reserve, is a nice 2000 Polaris Sportsman 500. This is fully automatic, with a high, low, neutral, and reverse. It has selectable 4 wheel drive, or standard 2 wheel drive. It is a nice machine, and runs very well.
The tires are very aggressive, front, and rear, and have 1/2 or so tread left on the rear, and 1/3 or so left on the front.
It is running in these pictures, so you can clearly see there is abolutely no smoke. Sorry, it is a little dirty. I do not beleive in 'armour-alling' my four wheelers! We use these things, and they get dirty. That is what they were made for!
It starts, runs, and is a dependable machine.
I do not know the actual mileage. It has a speedometer, which does not work...very common... Based on the condition of the machine, I would judge the mileage to be somewhat low. as the plastics, bumpers, racks, seat, etc are in reasonably good shape for a vehicle of this age.
I do not have a title. There is not a problem with the title..there just is not a title. Here, in Alabama, as well as all surrounding states, and most of the country, titles are not necessary for atvs. Title, or ownership, is transferred on such with a bill of sale. We will supply the winner with a bill of sale. If you live in a state that requires a title for an atv, please do not bid.
Almost all is positive for this machine in the big picture....After all, it is a 9 year old atv......only small negatives...1. Sometimes, rarely, you have to bump the starter solenoid to get the elec start to work. This is an easy fix. I just never have bothered. Starter solenoids are readily available here on ebay for less than $20. Also, the pull starts works very well. 2. The 4 wheel drive is rarely used. Therefore, the hubs are a little 'sticky.' Actually, I guess polaris front hubs in general are a little sticky. If I get a chance, I will pull them, clean them, and relubricate them. I am confident this will make them not as 'sticky'. 1 seems to be dead on..works right all the time..the other one seems to work when it wants to...no big deal..very very typical...3. Transmission linkage need to be adjusted..very simple..this is just the rod that connects the shifter to the transmission. It has a threaded end on both ends, like a tie-rod, and is easily adjustable. If I have time, I will adjust the linkage...No promises though..I may not have time to before this auction ends.
Now, all this being said, this is sold as is, with no warranty, expressed or implied, as this is a 9 year old machine. However, this descripton is very accurate, so please bid with confidence.
Payment options on this will be cash or usps money order on pickup. Yes, we will ship it..shipping would be roughly $300 to $500 to a business address or freight terminal, which the buyer would pay. We would build a crate for it at no charge, set up the shipping, load it, etc, but the buyer would pay for the freight.
