Up for auction is this 1979 Yamaha XS1100 Special. It is in excellent condition.  This machine was owned by the original owner until May 2008, then I bought it.  Since then, I had the brake pads changed and the fuel petcocks rebuilt.  Otherwise, the motorcycle has been meticulously maintained by the previous owner for 30 years.

The 4-cylinder, 1100cc engine starts on the first attempt every time.  The bike pulls hard, shifts through all gears like a dream, and is a joy to drive.  The mileage of 18,250 means that only 600 miles per year have been logged on this machine.  All the lights and signals work great.  There is no rust on the bike or in the gas tank.

There is a small tank dent on the right side (see pictures) and the exhaust pipes have become blued.  Other than normal wear, the exterior of the motorcycle is in great shape.

The bike has chrome case savers, a late model mini-fairing, and the original toolkit and owner?s manual (and original bill of sale).

You will not be disappointed in this motorcycle.  I am selling because I want to buy Harley next year.
