You are viewing an older restoration in need of refreshing the exterior body and paint. The interior and drive train are in better than good, but not excellent condition. There are some signs of paint bubbles at lower door fronts and a spot at the convertible rear top molding on the driver side. I have been told by the owner, who also was informed of the vehicle being a numbers matching car all original when they purchased the car. If numbers matching is a critical requirement, I would recommend the car be inspected by a qualified Ford expert or equivalent.
1965 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLES are very much in demand, especially those with a 289 and 4-speed with numbers matching. This is one that I feel would be a perfect candidate to refresh without being upside down in you investment. One properly restored to the level of a high grade of three or a two, could sell for, or be worth in the high 20's to mid 30's.

All bidders must be aware that this vehicle is being offered to auction in ?AS IS CONDITION? with ?NO? suggested or implied warrantee. The current owner has done nothing to the car since purchase. They had hopes of refreshing it back to show quality, however, allowable time has and will not permit this to happen. Their loss is your gain, as they only would like to recover their investment. THE FOLLOWING, IS MY INSPECTION RESULTS OF THE CAR:
BODY:
* Fit of the doors, deck lid, frnt. fenders & hood is very even and have proper gap.
* The two doors both have bubbles in the paint on the front lower sections, and driver?s door around handle, show signs of poor previous repair.
* There are paint bubbles at the Conv. Top molding left side top rear deck.
* All remaining sheet metal appears to be in good condition --- no signs of rust or damage.
* Good body tech could repair areas of need very easily, and repaint properly.
CHROME & STAINLESS:
* All chrome and stainless in very good condition and do not need attention.
* Wheels are factory rally type and are in very good condition with new tires.
* Window and windshield frames in good condition.
CONVERTIBLE TOP:
* Material is standard quality, and on good condition.
* Rear plastic window needs buffing or possible replacement of plastic.
* All the steel frame and bows are painted, free from rust, and move freely.
* The power motors and hydraulics are in good condition and work smoothly.
ELECTRICAL:
* All lights, switches, relays, and instruments (water temp not accurate) rest work fine and look good.
INTERIOR:
* All vinyl material in excellent condition, free from cracks, tears, rips, cuts, or weather.
* Seats feel firm and comfortable
* Door panels, kick panels, rear seat side panels, and dash pad in good condition.
* Carpet is in good condition, may need shampoo.
* Brake, clutch, and accelerator pads missing.
ENGINE:
* Runs cool (no overheat), no smoke, no knocking, ticking, runs & starts great.
* Mileage is unknown and everything appears to be original.
* Would recommend good detail cleaning and painting of engine and compartment.
CHASSIS / SUSPENSION:
* The owner says it drives and handles very nicely , no shimmy?s, wandering, or vibrations.
* Visibly, there is no unusual rust on any of the underside sheet metal, frame horns, or suspension parts.
* Underside only needs to be cleaned and painted with chassis black paint.
TRANSMISSION:
* Shifts smoothly with no wines or noises.
