VIN # 0F02G156950

Motor Serial Number:  OF156950

First time offered since the mid 1980?s.  I?m selling off my Boss 302.

HISTORY

According to the Marti Report (included with the sale), this Boss was manufactured January 22, 1970 and was yellow.  My brother purchased the car in the mid 1980?s out of Atlanta, GA.  At that time it was in original, rust-free, basically concourse example of a Boss 302 (someone before him changed the color from yellow to red but to my understanding it was painted professionally... NOT A $299 MAACO PAINTJOB).  In the late 1980?s he also bought a Shelby GT500KR conv and decided to sell the Boss to me.  In 1993 we decided to do some vintage track time with the Shelby Club so we entered the cars in the lineup at the Shelby event in Watkins Glen, NY.

On the second day of this event I blew the engine on the front straight.

At this time I had so much fun doing track time that I decided to set the car up so it was not only good for the street but track events as well.

Through 1993 and 1994, I bought another Boss 302 short block #D0ZE-6015-0-0 fully prepped.

The old heads were fully rebuilt and all parts de-burred and polished at Rusty?s Cylinder head in Cape Coral, Florida.

A MILODON Road Race Pan was installed along with a Blow Proof Bell housing for safety reasons.  I was lucky to find, at The Carlisle Ford Show a new set of Period Correct Doug Thourly headers that I had ceramic coated before installing.  Crane Gold Roller Rockers, and American Racing Torque Thrust Wheels with Dunlop P235-15 SP Sport D40 M2 tires.  Wheels are like-new.  Tires do show track wear.

A Nodular Case Detroit Locker 3.50 Rear Gear was installed along with Side Exit Racing exhaust.  Muffler and pipes for street use and pipes for track.  In 1995, I entered the car in the Shelby Event in Atlanta, GA.  at Atlanta Speedway and the car ran great!

For the next year the car did only local car shows.

In April 1996, we used the Boss along with 7 other vintage to new Mustangs in my daughter?s wedding.  Driving it home the next day, a valve lock broke and punched a hole in a piston.

Because I was starting a new business and funds were tight, I tore the engine down and put the car in storage until this year.

During that time, I had both short blocks and cranks re-done by Lamont?s Machine Shop in Fort Myers, FL.  Lamont has been working on Boss Mustangs in Florida since they first started racing at Sebring in 1969.  He is considered THE BEST!

Both blocks were bored .040 over and the cranks were ground and prepped.  Both engines were fitted with new Ross Racing Pistons.  The original engine was balanced and assembled and two sets of Boss 302 heads were completely rebuilt with new valves, guilds, springs and locks.

The original engine was installed and has less than 1000 miles on it.  The second engine is still apart.

Not apparent on the pictures (new pictures available)... I have re-installed the original Magnum 500 Wheels and Goodyear 60-15 PolyGlass Tires.  One tire is new and the other 3 are used in good condition.

Also, I took out the Detroit Locker 3.90 Gears and put the orginal 3.50 Gears with the N Case back in.

I feel it would take very little to make this car a 10.  I have also obtained THE original MARTI report on this Boss to prove its legitimacy.  An image of this report can be emailed upon request.

CAR CONDITION

Paint:  for a 25 year old paint job, it still looks excellent with a great shine as you can tell from the pictures.  As already stated, when they changed the color, it was done professionally.  Everything was removed including brake and fuel lines and the undercarriage was also painted red (as you can see in the pictures).

Body:

  • No panels appear to be replaced.
  • No dents
  • Two scratches in the passenger door.
  • Bubbles-under-paint mild on both rear fender wells.
  • Driver?s door jams are excellent
  • Complete underside excellent, no rust except one place show in pictures (someone had a small rag stuffed in the access hole that retained moisture causing the rust)? but easy fix.
  • It has reinforced shock towers which proves it is a legit original Boss 302

Interior: All good? to the best of my knowledge or I can tell, it is all original.  Driver seat shows some wear (I have a new set of front covers still in the wrapper).

Other Components and Important Information:

I have re-installed the Magnum 500 Wheels and Goodyear 60-15 PolyGlass Tires.  One tire is new and the other 3 are used in good condition.

Also, I took out the Detroit Locker 3.90 Gears and put the orginal 3.50 Gears with the N Case back in.

I feel it would take very little to make this car a 10.

1.       Exhaust system including headers.

2.       Distributor

Some auctions are being targeted by spoof scam artists using the eBay second chance offers to maliciously scam bidders into logging on to eBay and have their account names and passwords stolen.

Here is our solution:  We will post our phone number in all auctions.  If you are not the winning bidder, and receive a second chance offer, please call us to confirm this is a valid offer rather than following the link in the spoof email.  I will inform you if the offer is valid, and if it is not, I will give you the proper link to report the email to eBay.

We want to keep a safe and secure place for our auctions and for all the bidders on our auctions.
