We know you 4.6 Modular Ford guys have been asking for an upgraded oil pump for your high performance engines and it is finally available at Propower. It is made by Melling and addresses the problem inherent to the modular engine.
The original Ford pump works ok but the rotors inside the oil pump are not designed to withstand sustained high rpm with more than stock horsepower. Many racer's have lost an engine because the factory rotors just can't handle the horsepower. There are some companies that provide billet rotors for about $300.00 but you still have to install them in your OEM Ford housing.
